Fire Alarm BT — Terms & Conditions

Effective date: June 2026

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Fire Alarm BT’s website, applications, training materials, simulations, practice tools, certificates, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

The Service is operated by Fire Alarm BT (“Fire Alarm BT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Fire Alarm BT can be reached by email at support@firealarmbt.com.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Educational Purpose Only — Important Disclaimer

Fire Alarm BT is an educational and training platform only. All content made available through the Service—including building layouts, simulations, diagrams, questions, answers, explanations, calculations, practice examinations, recommendations, reports, certificates, and other materials—is provided solely for general learning and practice purposes.

The Service does not provide:

  • Professional engineering services;
  • Fire-protection engineering services;
  • Code-compliance determinations;
  • Installation instructions;
  • Inspection, testing, maintenance, or commissioning guidance for a specific site;
  • Plan review, permitting, or authority-having-jurisdiction approval;
  • Legal, regulatory, safety, or professional advice; or
  • A substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional.

You must not rely on the Service to design, install, alter, inspect, test, maintain, approve, certify, or validate any actual fire alarm system, life-safety system, building, or project.

Fire and life-safety requirements vary by jurisdiction, occupancy, project conditions, adopted codes and standards, manufacturer documentation, and the requirements of the applicable authority having jurisdiction (“AHJ”). Before making any real-world decision or performing any work, users must consult appropriately qualified and licensed professionals and the applicable AHJ.

2. No Guarantee of Code Compliance or Accuracy

While we aim to provide useful educational material, Fire Alarm BT does not warrant that any content is complete, current, accurate, suitable for a particular purpose, or compliant with any code, standard, regulation, manufacturer requirement, or local rule.

Codes, standards, and regulations may change. Educational examples may be simplified, fictionalized, incomplete, or intentionally designed to test judgment. A simulation or answer marked “correct” within the Service does not establish that a real-world design, installation, or decision is safe, lawful, permitted, or compliant.

You are solely responsible for independently verifying all information before using it outside the Service.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
  • All activity occurring through your account;
  • Promptly notifying us at support@firealarmbt.com if you suspect unauthorized account access; and
  • Ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

You may not share, sell, transfer, or permit others to use your account unless we expressly authorize it in writing.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, educational, or expressly authorized internal training purposes. You may not:

  • Use the Service for real-world fire alarm design, engineering, permitting, installation, inspection, testing, certification, or code-compliance decisions;
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, publish, or commercially exploit Service content except as expressly permitted;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, interfere with, or attempt to bypass security features of the Service;
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to collect content or account data without written permission;
  • Upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt the Service;
  • Misrepresent a FireAlarm BT certificate or completion record as a professional credential, license, certification, approval, or code-compliance determination;
  • Use the Service in a manner that infringes another person's rights or violates applicable law; or
  • Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

We may suspend or terminate access for activity we reasonably believe violates these Terms or poses a risk to users, the Service, or others.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and all associated content—including software, text, graphics, simulations, layouts, questions, branding, logos, designs, and materials—are owned by or licensed to Fire Alarm BT and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended educational purpose.

No ownership rights are transferred to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

6. User Content and Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, comments, or other materials to us, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and incorporate that feedback into the Service without compensation to you.

Do not submit confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information unless we specifically request it through a secure channel.

If the Service allows you to upload content, you represent that you have all necessary rights to do so and that your content does not violate law or another party's rights.

7. Training Records and Certificates

Fire Alarm BT may provide completion records, badges, scores, progress tracking, or certificates of completion. Any certificate, badge, score, or completion record issued by Fire Alarm BT only indicates participation in or completion of content made available through the Service. It does not:

  • Confer a professional license, certification, designation, or credential;
  • Establish competency for any employment, regulatory, inspection, engineering, installation, or safety purpose;
  • Replace any required examination, credential, training, apprenticeship, licensing, or approval process;
  • Demonstrate code compliance; or
  • Constitute approval by any government agency, AHJ, employer, professional association, testing organization, or certification body.

You may not state or imply that a Fire Alarm BT certificate is an official, government-recognized, professionally accredited, code-required, or regulatory certification unless we expressly state that in writing.

8. Paid Services, Payments, and Refunds

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing frequency, taxes, subscription terms, cancellation procedures, and refund rules will be presented to you before purchase or in a separate order form.

Unless required otherwise by applicable law or stated in the applicable purchase terms, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing or available plans prospectively. Any change will not affect a prepaid period unless otherwise disclosed or required by law.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, policies, or practices.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Availability and Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, suspend, discontinue, or remove any portion of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including content, features, simulations, or account access.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Fire Alarm BT disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.

We do not warrant that the Service or its content will be complete, reliable, current, error-free, or suitable for any real-world fire or life-safety application.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fire Alarm BT, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or opportunity arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Without limiting the above, we will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, death, property damage, code violation, project delay, failed inspection, regulatory action, or other consequence arising from reliance on Service content in a real-world fire alarm, building, or life-safety context.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fire Alarm BT and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses—including reasonable legal fees—arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of applicable law or another party's rights; or
  • Your reliance on Service content for real-world work, decisions, designs, installations, or compliance determinations.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, or used the Service improperly.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, limitation-of-liability, indemnification, and dispute-related provisions.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept them.
